Howard Hook Discusses Financial Planning Challenges and Opportunities for Singles on News 12 NJ -- 06-Sep-2011 Howard Hook, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with EKS Associates, was a guest on the July 30 episode of News 12 New Jersey's "It's Your Money," a 30-minute weekly program that informs viewers about important financial matters. In an interview conducted by host Eric Landskroner, Mr. Hook focused on a very important yet often overlooked issue that single (divorced, widowed, or otherwise single) people should be aware of - that while they may share many of the same financial goals as their married counterparts, there are alternative planning methods that should be employed to help them get there. "Through outlets like "It's Your Money," I hope to continue to reach single people to let them know that there are specialized planning strategies that can be advantageous to them, and that we have the experience necessary to put these customized plans in place," said Hook. Named one of Medical Economics magazine's 'Best Advisors for Doctors' in 2010, Howard is regularly published in local and national print and online publications. He currently teaches "Intermediate Investments" and "Retirement Planning in Turbulent Times" at the Princeton Adult School, has been an instructor for candidates studying for the CFP® exam in the course area of taxation, and is often invited to speak on panels and at events. Committed to giving back to his community, Howard participates in events such as the Financial Planning Association's Philadelphia Financial Planning Day, and sits on the fundraising committee of his synagogue. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Binghamton University, and received his CFP® designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.
